Cancer strikes again:/

Back in November of 2018 my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. They thought they could just do a lumpectomy but after three surgeries, they finally decided that a mastectomy was the only option. They were quite concerned about the risk of such a major surgery but she handled it like a champ!! I went up on Wednesday and stayed with her until Saturday.
So thankful that she sailed through the surgery with no problems! They had two surgeons operating at the same time so they could minimize the amount of time she was under anesthesia.

Being released to head for home!

A busy weekend

Memorial day weekend ended up being crazy busy around here.  Bob was in Alberta working on potato harvester stuff, Ashley ended up going to Hooper for a wedding, Brandi went to Orofino Idaho to meet Chris' family, Tyler went to Goldendale on a biking/camping trip with the Rainer's and I took Kendra to Spokane for a basketball tournament with the Northwest Express team!

Grandview lambs

Spring gets so crazy busy around here that it's tough to find the time to go pick up lambs all the way from Redmond for the Grandview sale. Bob made a wire crate to put in the back of the canopy on the truck so that we wouldn't have to use Maljaar's trailer again to go and get them. Plus, it's a much easier (and cheaper) drive to go that far without pulling a trailer.

Last middle school sport season

Kendra finished off her middle school sports career with another great track and field season. She has a great group of friends that do track and they have so much fun together! This year, at their home meets they added a fun little event called the twinkie relay. The relay team can be any four people you want, the baton is a pack of twinkies, and the last person to run has to consume the twinkies before they cross the finish line!
Kendra is a very strong competitor and has set a few records in middle school.
For the Housel Middle School records, for 7th grade she holds the 7th place record for 200 meters, 2nd place for 400 meters, 2nd place for 800 meters, 9th place for 100m hurdles, 1st place for high jump, and first place for long jump. For the 8th grade housel middle school records she is third place for 800m, 3rd place for 1600m, 6th in high jump and 1st in long jump. Her relay team is 2nd in the 4x100 and 2nd in the 4x200
In the 'Mid-Valley League' which is Grandview, Toppenish, Wapato, Zillan,Sunnyside, West Valley, Ellensburg, Morgan, East Valley, Naches, Granger, Selah, Sierra Vista, and  Prosser, she has a few top 10 records for the 2019 season.
She is second in the 800 meter, 5th in the mile, and 2nd in the long jump.
Her relay team is 4th in the 4x100, and 1st in the 4x200!
